The current study focuses on the risk and resilience factors for predicting the quality of life of children with developmental delay from families of medium-low socioeconomic status. The study is a longitudinal study: first, various characteristics of the child and his parents were evaluated as part of a developmental assessment at the center of child development when the children were in preschool-age, and later the quality of life and the children’s adaptation to elementary school were evaluated. In accordance with the main findings, it was found that maternal playfulness and reflectiveness moderated the relationship between the early developmental risk and the children’s quality of life. When children are provided with an adapted maternal environment, children with high developmental risk report a higher quality of life later in their development. The research conclusions will be used to build an intervention and prevention plan aimed at improving the quality of life of children with developmental delays.
