This Ph.D. dissertation explores the intricate connection between disability, sexuality, and the law, focusing on disability-related sexual rights. It draws on social and legal theories to answer key questions and consists of an introductory chapter and three empirical papers. The theoretical model underscores the importance of access, choice, and pleasure in conceptualizing disability sexual rights. The empirical papers delve into court definitions of disabled sexuality, the interaction between legal context and social construction of disabled sexuality in sex work, and non-legal norms and regulation of disabled sexuality in Ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities. Overall, the dissertation emphasizes the need for context-driven frameworks to recognize and implement disability sexual rights.
