The cerebroplacental ratio (CPR), the ratio of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) to the umbilical artery (UA) pulsatility indices (PI), is considered a marker for placental insufficiency, and lower CPR at term pregnancies, indicates a higher risk for adverse neonatal outcome. This study focused on the relationship between abnormal CPR at term and neurodevelopmental outcome in children
Overall 60 pregnant women were included in the study, of whom 24 had abnormal blood flows and 36 had normal blood flows. The preliminary results indicate differences in the neonatal birthweights but not in neurodevelopmental achievements at 3-5 years of age, as perceived by parents
